Lavonne Doris Elquezabal of American Falls, ID passed away due to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) at her home on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013.
Lavonne was born Jan. 9, 1959 to Charles and Valeria Amos in St. Maries, ID. She attended school in American Falls. She became a personal care aid with Countryside Home Health and Hospice in Aberdeen, ID, until she was forced to stop due to illness.
Lavonne enjoyed camping in Rockland with her husband, Jose, and being with her children. Lavonne loved playing darts with the American Falls Dart League. Her hobbies were collecting anything Elvis, angels, light houses, Native American and porcelains dolls.
Lavonne married Felix De La Cruz and they had one son, Felix (Joe) De La Cruz and two daughters, Mikia Jo De La Cruz and Ramona Doris De La Cruz. They later divorced. She met and married Jose Elquezabal Jr. in Aberdeen on Feb. 8, 1996. They adopted Brock and McKayla Elquezabal.
Lavonne is survived by her husband Jose; children Felix (Joe) De La Cruz, Ramona Doris De La Cruz, Brock Elquezabal and McKayla Elquezabal of American Falls; her grandchildren, Shylo Schumacker, Jasmin Schumacker, Shathen De La Cruz, Kyle Braegger and one grandchild on the way, Kraythen Jose Elquezabal; her sister, Tam Swart and brother Brady Earl Amos of Kennewick, WA area; her father-in-law Jose Martin (Rose) Elguezabal of Aberdeen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Mikia De La Cruz, brother Clarence (Klix) Earnest Amos, her mother-in-law Blanche Elquezabal and her uncle Harold Savage.
The visitation was at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Davis-Rose Mortuary, 170 Idaho St., American Falls. The graveside service followed at 12:30 p.m. at the Aberdeen Cemetery, Aberdeen, ID.
