Elmer James Nerelli, 94, went home with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013. He was born Nov. 18, 1918 in Santa Margarita, CA. He was the fourth child of six children.
Elmer graduated from Templeton High School in 1938. He was drafted into the U.S. Army Aug. 5, 1941, and served in WWII in the South Pacific. He met the love of his life, Gladys Eades, and they married Oct. 18, 1962. Elmer worked and retired from the California Highway Department. He loved to hunt and fish.
Elmer is survived by one sister, Mary Ferry of Paso Robles, CA; daughter, Darlene (Lee) Cluff, American Falls, ID; three grandchildren, Charlene (Steve) Andreason, Karen (Phil) Geraci, and Chris (Kasey) Cluff; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, wife, one sister and three brothers.
The visitation was from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at Davis-Rose Mortuary, 170 Idaho St., American Falls. Mass was at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at St. Mary’s Chapel, 352 Roosevelt, American Falls. Graveside with military honors followed at the Falls View Cemetery.
