Hilda Serrano, 79, of American Falls, ID, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014.
She was born April 25, 1934, in Edinburg, TX, the second child of Faustino and Ramona Rodriguez.
She grew up in Texas and married Felix De La Cruz Sr., whom she later divorced. She moved to American Falls, and married Antonio Serrano, who later passed away. She then lived with Edubigildo Reyes for more than 20 years until he passed away.
Hilda worked at Lamb Weston and volunteered at Hillcrest Elementary School. She enjoyed fishing, camping, hanging out with family and friends. She loved helping family and friends; she was a mom to many people and was a grandma to all. Her hobbies were gardening, cooking and taking care of family and friends.
Hilda is survived by her brother, Agustin (Delia) Rodriquez; and her sister, Elena Rodriquez; her sons, Felix Jr. (Mary Lou) De La Cruz, Ezequiel (Terri) De La Cruz, Charlie (Diana) De La Cruz, Fidel (Audra) De La Cruz, Isaac (Cynthia) De La Cruz; her daughters, Ramona (Eleazar) Salinas, Mirta (Jeff) Martin, Maria Isabel De La Cruz and Ricky Serrano; and also by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law Refugia (Eleuterio) Martinez; sons, Noel De La Cruz, Humberto Serrano; and her daughter, Sonia Serrano.
The visitation will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 352 Roosevelt, American Falls, with the Rosary starting at 8 p.m. The Mass of Resurrection will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 20, with a visitation at 10 a.m. at the church.
