Tonya Jeanette Kilgore, 42, of Athena, OR, died Sept. 1, 2014, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Her memorial service was at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Athena Christian Church, Fifth and Van Buren streets, Athena. Private interment will be at the Athena Cemetery.
Tonya was born May 31, 1972, at Pocatello, to Eldon and Dianne Isaak. She graduated from Burnt River High School and graduated from BMCC with an associate’s degree in accounting.
On Dec. 30, 1995, Tonya married Brian Kilgore. They made their home in Athena, OR.
Tonya worked for Farm Equipment Headquarters for three years. She operated Little Hands Day Care Center from her home for eight years. She enjoyed scrapbooking, crafts of all kinds and baking, cinnamon rolls being her specialty. She loved spending time with her girls, homeschooling Lesley and vacations at the beach. Her love for the Lord shone through and was her sustaining strength through her illness.
Tonya is survived by her husband, Brian; daughters Lesley and Kimberly of Athena; stepchildren June Hills of Pendleton, Amanda Kilgore of McMinnville, OR, and Casey Kilgore of Sheridan, OR; a granddaughter, Rayna Banister of McMinnville; her parents, Eldon and Dianne Isaak of New Plymouth; a brother, Terrill Isaak and wife Patty of Turner, OR; a sister, Terra Lahaie and husband Ron of New Plymouth; father- and mother-in-law Ken and Donna Kilgore of Baker City, OR; sister-in-law Michelle Schmidt and her husband Joe of Creswell, OR; nieces Annie and Hannah Lahaie of New Plymouth, and Breanna Schmidt of Creswell; and nephew Zachery Schmidt of Creswell.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to a scholarship fund for Lesley and Kimberly with checks made out to Brian Kilgore.
