Carolee J. Funk passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 19, 2015, at St. Luke’s Regional Hospital in Twin Falls, ID.
Carolee was born Aug. 7, 1943, in American Falls, ID, to Otto and Edna Funk. She attended and graduated from American Falls High School and at age 18, moved to Idaho Falls, ID, to enroll in a secretarial studies program. She lived in Idaho Falls until 2003, and at that time became a resident of the Twin Falls Care Center.
Carolee enjoyed embroidering, crocheting and creating art projects and sharing them with family and friends. Carolee had a great love of animals and had several pets over the years. She also enjoyed swimming and bowling; and was a member of the The Old Time Fiddlers.
Carolee is preceded in death by her companion of many years, Louis Gustin; parents, Otto and Edna Funk; brother, Melvin Funk; sister, Paula Funk; and nephew, Bradley Funk. She is survived by two sisters, Eileen Dalton and Doreen (Jerry) Swisher; nephews Monty (Carolene) Funk, Lance (Lisa) Funk, K.C. Swisher, and Langdon Tappy; two nieces, Tara (Justin) Pyne and Sarina Janney; and several great nephews and nieces.
A viewing was held for family and friends on Tuesday, March 24, from 2 to 2:45 p.m. at Davis-Rose Mortuary, 170 Idaho St. in American Falls. Funeral services followed at 3 p.m. at the Shepherd of the Falls Lutheran Church, 246 Lee St. in American Falls. Interment followed in the Falls View Cemetery.
