Donald H. Heward was born July 4, 1927, in Grace, ID, and passed away July 1, 2015.
The youngest of eight children, he spent the majority of his childhood in Burley, ID. After returning from a mission in Alberta, Canada for the LDS Church, he met and married Beverly Mazuren. Together they had eight children: Pamela, Craig, Dale, Dana, Cheryl, Bryan, Keri, and Kyle. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He managed Northwestern Ice and Cold Storage in American Falls for many years. Later, he moved to Arizona, where he enjoyed driving a trolley in Tempe, AZ. He enjoyed this job, as it allowed him to talk to and meet people. His friendly demeanor and love of “shooting the breeze” prompted a local newspaper to publish an article about him.
After retirement, he moved back to American Falls. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, Louis L’Amour novels, and documentaries about animals. He will be remembered by his loved ones as someone who was kind and always willing to help others whenever he could.
A viewing was held from 10 to 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, with the funeral service starting at 11 a.m. at the American Falls Stake Center, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 111 Church Place, American Falls. Interment was at the Falls View Cemetery in American Falls. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.davisrosemortuary.com.
