Leslie Duane Corbridge, age 90 of American Falls, passed away Monday, Nov. 6, 2023 in American Falls.
Duane was born in Sterling, ID, on March 18, 1933 to Vernal and Ella Corbridge. Duane attended school in Sterling and then Aberdeen before graduating in 1951. Duane worked for Bingham County Department of Road and Bridge as a truck driver and motor grader operator.
He married Joyce Armstrong on March 15. 1957, where they lived in Sterling and Aberdeen until moving to American Falls in 1966 to start a new career in the oil business for United Oil and Amfo Oil. Duane and Joyce worked side by side, him driving truck and her keeping books.
In the early 1970’s Duane and Joyce started square and round dancing with the Funstars Club. They danced weekly in American Falls and Pocatello, and traveled to the surrounding states to dance.
In 1984 Duane started a new career selling cars for Bauer Chevrolet, Country Chevrolet, and then retiring from Glen Chevrolet in 1993.
After retiring they spent 12 winters in Yuma, AZ, making lifelong friends. Duane and Joyce enjoyed traveling and went to Cozumel, Mexico, Hawaii, the Cook Islands, and took a cruise to Alaska.
Duane and Joyce loved camping with their family and spent a lifetime doing so with his parents, brother and all of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Duane is survived by: his wife Joyce of 66 years; daughter, Gayle (Kirk deceased) Stroschein; sons, Shane (Pam) Corbridge, Justin “Skeeter” (Chasidee) Corbridge; grandchildren, Jamie (Jeff) Phillips, Ethan (Eunice) Stroschein, Exel Stroschein; great-granddaughter Halle Phillips; step-grandchildren Heidi (Jon) Barksdale, Justin Claunch;, and step-great-granddaughter Gwen Barksdale.
Duane is preceded in death by parents Vernal and Ella, brother Dee, and baby sister Colleen.
The visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 15, at Davis-Rose Mortuary, 170 Idaho Street, in American Falls. The graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023, at Falls View Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at www.DavisRoseMortuary.com.
