James passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 19, 2024. He was 60 years old. James was born in Paducah, KY, to James Barnhill II and Rickie Ann Bollinger on Feb. 7, 1964. He attended South Hopkins High School in Nortonville, KY.
Having an artistic eye, James quickly developed a hunger for music and was an amazing guitar player. He also loved photography. James was an accomplished photographer and at the age of 23 began working for Olan Mills, well known for its photography. He also opened a successful photography studio in Challis, ID.
James had three children while living in Missouri: Alana, Logan and Clayton. He then moved to Challis, ID, and worked at the Thompson Creek Mine alongside his brother Billy Ray. There he met his wife, partner and best friend Kimberly and together they had two children, Jessica and Jeremy. With Kim, he gained a bonus son, Anthony. Together they lived in Gooding, ID, where James worked at Glanbia Foods.
James is survived by his wife, Kimberly, six children, 12 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Tara, brother Billy Ray and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, an uncle, three aunts, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends he met along the way.
Services will be held at Powerhouse Christian Fellowship, 2905 Sunbeam Rd. in American Falls, ID, on Saturday, March 16. The family will greet friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Celebration of Life will start at 12 noon. Following the service there will be a luncheon.
