In loving memory of Allen “Garth” Wilcox, who passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024, in Pocatello, ID.
Garth was born on Nov. 1, 1943, in Aberdeen, ID, to his parents Truman and Bertha Wilcox. A dedicated farmer all his life, Garth found joy and purpose in working the land and tending to the fields.
During his youth, Garth also served in the Navy for four years, showcasing his commitment to serving his country. His strong work ethic and dedication were evident as he worked tirelessly in the agriculture industry all his life, even working harvest until the remarkable age of 80.
Described as a hard worker with a kind heart and loving spirit, Garth touched the lives of many with his warm personality and generosity. In his free time, he indulged in hobbies such as fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles, and watching western movies.
Garth is survived by: his beloved wife, Jeannette; children, Julie, Valerie Countrymen, Nancy Lee Bromley, Kathy Jo Roberts, Les, Caroly Spangler, Charles, and Steven; siblings, Truman, Jay, Norman, James, Gordon, and Elsin McCurdy; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His legacy of hard work, love for family, and passion for life will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May you rest in peace, Garth Wilcox. Your memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved you.
Services were held on Friday, March 29, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Aberdeen. Visitation took place from 10 to 10:45 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will be at the Springfield-Sterling Cemetery.
