Irma Cardona May, born May 6,1947 to Eloy S. Cardona Sr. and Martha Pena Cardona in American Falls, ID, passed away March 8, 2024 in Lakeland, FL.
Irma was a renowned seamstress and owned her own alteration shops for many years. She loved flowers, making porcelain dolls, ceramics, and her grandkids.
In 1965 Irma was Aberdeen High School’s first Hispanic Homecoming Queen –an award that she recalled fondly.
Irma is survived by her husband, Kenneth May of 57 years; her son Greg, daughter Kristen Powell (Chuck); brothers Eloy, Ray, Richard and Isaac, grandchildren Kaitlyn and Ian Powell and Alec and Olivia May.
She was preceded in death by her parents Eloy and Martha, a baby sister Irene, a brother David, a grandchild and lots of uncles, aunts and cousins.
A graveside celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 15, at 2 p.m. at the Aberdeen Cemetery.
