Rulon G. Peck 10-23-24

Our Beloved Father, grandfather, son, brother, cousin and friend Rulon G. Peck passed away on Monday, Oct. 14, 2024, at his home in Pocatello.
Rulon was born on Nov. 25, 1935 to George C. and Mae F. Peck and raised in Aberdeen on the family farm. He was the fifth child with four sisters and four brothers. Life on the Farm was typical with lots of work and lots of play.
He went to high school in Aberdeen. After school he went on a mission to the Eastern States Mission, mainly in North Carolina and Virginia. After his mission he joined the Idaho National Guard. While he was working in Rupert at his sister’s farm he met the love of his life. Janet Mecham. They fell in love and enjoyed dancing and musicals.
He worked for Keebler cookies and crackers until he bought Lion’s Candy. They moved to Pocatello and worked in the candy business for years. Everyone in town knew him as the Candy Man. Rulon and Janet had four kids, Mark, Jill, Roger, and Colleen.
He loved to fish and hunt. He loved dancing and music and sang in the choir at church. His favorite thing to do was his garden. He grew beautiful flowers and a bountiful vegetable garden. All the neighbors benefited from his garden.
Services will be held on Friday, Oct. 25, with a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wilks Funeral Home in Chubbuck. The funeral will be in Rockland, ID, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, at the LDS Church at 405 E Shoshone Street, Rockland, ID 83277 with burial to follow at the Valley View Cemetery.
We are all going to miss Rulon but he is dancing with his beloved wife in heaven.
