Susan “Joanne” Nugent 12-11-24

Susan “Joanne” Nugent passed away on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at the Eastern Idaho Medical Center. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength that will forever remain in our hearts.
Born on Feb. 25, 1945, in American Falls, ID, to Glenn Alma Anderson and Velma Kendall Anderson, Joanne was the youngest of three children. She spent her life dedicated to family and to the well-being of those around her. She was known for her nurturing spirit, boundless compassion, and unwavering support. No matter what the challenges life presented, she approached them with grace and resilience.
Joanne was raised and attended school in Aberdeen, ID, where she met the love of her life, Johnny Dell Nugent. They were married on Oct. 21, 1959, and would spend the next 54 years together.
A loving mother to Kimmra Ann (Kent) Findlay of Aberdeen, Marla Kay (Jim) Reed of American Falls, Betty Lou (Clinton) Inskeep, and Brian Dell (Debbie) Nugent, both of Aberdeen, Joanne found joy in watching her children grow and she took great pride in the accomplishments of her family. She was also a proud grandmother to 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter whom she adored deeply. Her home was always a place of warmth, laughter, and unconditional love.
Joanne cherished time traveling with family, from road trips to camping trips, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Joanne is survived by her children, Kimmra, Marla, Betty and Brian; her brother, Gerald (Roberta) Anderson of Grand Junction, CO; her sister, Glenna Casias of Aberdeen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Velma; her husband, Johnny; a grandson, Brady Kent Findlay; a brother-in-law, Frank Casias; and niece Teri Fisk.
There was a lot of love in Joanne’s life. Even though she is gone she will live on in the hearts of her family.
The family extends their gratitude to the Idaho Heart Institute and to the cardiologists, staff, and nurses in the ICU at Eastern Idaho Medical Center for the wonderful care that they provided for Joanne.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot, ID. The family met with friends and relatives from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, and again for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Interment was in the Aberdeen Cemetery.
