Heaven became a little bit brighter and earth a little bit duller on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, when Patricia Bragg Larson returned home. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Rupert, ID, due to unknown circumstances.
Patricia was born in Idaho Falls, ID, to Benjamin and Elaine Ball Bragg on Jan. 20, 1948, the second of six siblings. She went to school in American Falls, ID. She had many fun stories she liked to share about her growing up years, such as when they got bored in the neighborhood the kids would dig up a dead cat and throw it another funeral, or shining lights in on the teenagers as they parked. She graduated from high school in 1967. She met the love of her life at girls’ camp that same year. Garland Larson was their serving as the priesthood. They were married on Jan. 20, 1967, mom’s 19th birthday. And then together they had the funnest and biggest adventure of her life. She always made things fun. She was a farm girl and she worked alongside her husband working on farms. She had many different jobs, but her greatest and biggest accomplishment was being a mom to her six children. She worked hard, but she made that work fun. Just before starting chores in the hot summers she would have all her kids jump in the canal to cool off. They lived in many places. She would always say it was the Gypsy blood in our family. During the 1970’s they took on the task of becoming foster parents, and one of these children is still involved in their life. Their house was always full of family and cousins.
Pat was a strong woman who had experienced many trials in her life time, but she had a strong testimony of her Heavenly Father. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, dearly.
Patricia and Garland were married for 46 years at the time of her passing. She is survived by her husband and six children, Brynen (Lisa) Larson, Declo, ID; Heidi (Steve) Randall, Preston, ID; Shawna Larson, Monroe, LA; Shane (Christine) Larson, Arlington, WA; Kimberly (Bryan) Jensen, Paul, ID; Nicole (Josh) Kirkbride, Tooele, UT; 16 grandchildren and soon to be three great-grandchildren.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents Ben and Elaine Bragg. Her funeral was held Saturday, Dec. 28, in Rupert, ID.
