Upon his return from Switzerland, Dennis joined the Army National Guard and began working in Salt Lake City for the church’s genealogy program. It was during this time that he met the love of his life, Sheryl Jean Saville. They sealed their love in marriage in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple, beginning a journey of togetherness that would span nearly six decades.
Dennis was a man of many talents and passions. Throughout his life, he pursued various careers, including coaching and teaching. As a teacher in both education and in church callings, he influenced and touched the lives of many individuals which resulted in lasting relationships. However, his greatest joy came from being a father. He reveled in the gift of parenthood, guiding and nurturing his children with unwavering love and support. His dedication to his family knew no bounds, and he was a constant source of strength and inspiration.
He is survived by: his adoring wife, Sheryl Jean Ure; their children, Teri Dawn, Shauna Jean, Jeni Lyn, Nicole Leigh, Rychael Dennis, Tiffany Sheryl, Diedre Kay, and Denelle Gwen. Dennis was also blessed with 34 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, with two more on the way. His immense love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life, and his memory will forever live on in their hearts.
Dennis was preceded in death by: his parents, Ralph and Goldie Ure; his brother Deloy Ure; and one grandchild, Carston Dennis Adamson; and one great-grandchild, Jessalyn Nicole Chapman. Their absence is deeply felt but serves as a reminder of the eternal bonds of family and the cherished memories they shared.
A funeral service honoring Dennis’s life was held Tuesday, July 11, at 10 a.m. at the American Falls Stake Center, where friends and family came together to celebrate his remarkable journey and bid him a loving farewell. Following the service, he was laid to rest in Teton Valley at the Cache Clawson Cemetery, a place that holds a special significance in the tapestry of his life.
Ralph Dennis Ure will be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted father, and a cherished friend. His kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith will forever inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. As we mourn his loss, let us also celebrate the vibrant and meaningful life he led, knowing that his spirit will continue to guide and comfort us in the days ahead.
