Scott was born in American Falls, ID, on June 25, 1957, to Shirley and Jackman Poulson, the third of seven children. His early days consisted of working on the farm alongside his brothers, sisters, and parents. He graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1975 and went on to serve a 2-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Switzerland. He loved serving the people, sharing the gospel, and bearing testimony of Jesus Christ. Scott attended BYU Provo where he met his wife, Dianne. Shortly after getting married, they moved back to Aberdeen, and spent the next 43 years farming and raising their family. During those years he was earnestly involved in Scouting and served as a Bishop, Stake President, and a Service Mission Leader with the Pocatello Service Missionaries, for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He truly loved to serve and do the Lord’s work.
Scott was a devoted husband and father. His friendly demeanor and smile could brighten anyone’s day. He loved to learn and improve, and never gave up on anything he set his mind to do. Some of his favorite pastimes were spending time with his family, tending his farm, building and fixing things, water skiing, snow skiing, and cycling. He was admired by many, a hero to his children, and strived to exemplify Christ-like love.
