St. George, Utah – Lee Ann Stark, born Sept. 17, 1948 in Pocatello, ID, to Lillian L. Adkins Bailey and George A. Bailey. Her beloved Dad was George L. Funk, of American Falls, ID. She died peacefully at her home in St. George, UT, on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024.
Lee Ann’s childhood was spent in Pocatello, American Falls, and Aberdeen. She was a graduate of Aberdeen High School, Aberdeen, ID. Her nursing education included an RN Diploma from St. Alphonsus School of Nursing, Boise, ID; bachelor’s degree, Weber State University, Ogden, UT; Master of Science degree (Family Nurse Practitioner) University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT. Her healthcare career began in her mid-teens as a nurse’s aide at Power County Hospital and Nursing Home in American Falls. Her professional nursing career began in 1969 and included practice in Idaho, Arizona, and Utah. Her experiences were in many specialties and settings. She continued her career as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), family nurse practitioner in St. George, UT, specializing in Internal Medicine and Wound Care. She enjoyed her classmates, teachers, colleagues and patients in each place she studied and worked, making lasting friendships along the way.
She was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She took great pride in her children and considered it a privilege to be the mother of Barbara Ann, Kristie Lee (Jared) Davis, and Cheryl Lynn (Jeramy) Egan.
She is survived by her much loved daughters and seven grandchildren, TJ, Mark, St. George, UT; Julianne Krafczyk, Mesquite, NV; Brianne (Rex Donn), Ashlynn, St George, UT; Kaitlin (Jackson Evans,) Layton, UT; Chloe Davis, and great-granddaughters, Charlee and Paislee of St. George, UT; siblings, Jeanne (Kim) Mortenson, St. George, UT; Susan (Wade) Povey, Angela Quinn, Elaine (Kevin) Neibaur, Bill (Bobi) Funk, American Falls, ID; and Janet (Charles) Kullhem, Englewood, CO. She also leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews, and a large, loving extended family.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, brother, George A. Bailey, Jr. and a host of other beloved relatives.
Davis-Rose Mortuary, American Falls, ID, laid Lee Ann to rest on Saturday Aug. 17, 2024 at the Neeley Cemetery in American Falls.
Her daughters would like to thank Dr. Claude Warner and Intermountain Home Care and Intermountain Hospice for their tender care.
