With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Kaye Marie Eckerle, who peacefully passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024, at the age of 80. Kaye was born on Jan. 22, 1944, in Salmon, ID, to Virgil and Hazel Schofield. She graduated from Salmon High School in 1961, where she met her high school sweetheart, Dean Nebeker. They married later that year and had three sons: Joseph, Donald, and Thomas. After her marriage to Dean, Kaye married Stan Swanson and had another son, Levi.
In 2000, Kaye married Robert Eckerle, and together they built a strong and loving partnership that lasted nearly 25 years. Kaye spent most of her life in Salmon, ID, and also lived in American Falls, Pocatello, and Caldwell, where she and Robert spent their final years.
Kaye’s greatest legacy was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, known for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering support.
She is survived by: her husband, Robert Eckerle; her four sons, Joseph (Mistelle), Donald (Julie), Thomas, and Levi (Chrissie); her daughters, Kellie (Will) Sharp and Lyndie Jo (Mark) Green; and her grandson, Dustin (Lyndie Jo’s son).
