Howard Eugene Westover, 68, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014 in Pocatello, ID.
He was born Jan. 16, 1946, in American Falls, to Ferrell Eugene and Ethel Taggart Westover of Aberdeen. He was the fifth of eight children born in the Westover family.
He attended school in Aberdeen until the age of 17, when he join the United States Navy. He was in the service of his country for 4 years, stationed in California.
After his release from the Navy he lived in California until returning to Idaho.
During his life he worked for E&R Transport, Bannock Memorial Hospital as purchasing agent, Case Tractor, Vollmer Well Drilling and at Pocatello Sod.
Howard was a member of the American Legion, serving as commander for a number of years.
He enjoyed car racing and taught himself to play guitar.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Keith LeVoy Westover.
He is survived by his siblings: Sheila (Garth) Hanson of Provo, UT, Dora (Lynn) Rowbury of Aberdeen, Madge (Richard) Lindsay of Blackfoot, Barry (Dawn) Westover of Marysville, WA, Carla (Stephen, deceased) Yancey of Highland, UT and Vicki (Randy) Gamble of Aberdeen; children, Debbie (Pat) Rowe, Wendy (Danny) Boyle and Jeffery (Shelley) Westover; grandchildren Whitney (James Patrick) Turner, Sydney Rowe, Andi and Allie Boyle, and Aryia and Chloe Westover; and great grandchildren Charleigh Dey and James Patrick Alan Turner.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 9 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Visitations were one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Aberdeen Cemetery with Military Honors.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Rose Mortuary.
