Gordon Lee Claunch, 58, of Aberdeen passed away Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015 following an extended illness.
Gordon was born July 16, 1957 in American Falls to Wayne and Joanne Claunch. Gordon grew up and went to school in Aberdeen and lived most of his life in the Aberdeen/American Falls area.
Gordon was described as a jack of all trades and liked working with his hands. Gordon enjoyed driving truck, farming, fishing, being in the outdoors and spending time with his family. Gordon enjoyed cooking and was known for his dinner rolls and scientific measurements of “a couple handfuls” and “a pinch or just enough ‘til it looks right.”
Gordon is survived by his three children: Daniel Phillips, Bambi (Dustin) Hoover, Josh (Anika) Claunch all of American Falls; brothers: Lyle Claunch of Meridian, Glen (Robin) Claunch of American Falls; sisters: Carol (Daryl) Shelly of Pocatello, Sherry Claunch of Idaho Falls; grandchildren: Britney, Sarah, Gus, Raddyxx; cousin and lifelong friend/partner in crime, Clay Thompson.
Gordon was preceded in death by his father, Henry Wayne Claunch; mother, Ruth Joanne (Claunch) Jones, and grandson Tylan Claunch.
At Gordon’s request, no services will be held. Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Gordon’s life on July 16, 2016, location to be determined. Anyone wishing to offer condolences or share stories about Gordon with the family can do so at: claunchb@hotmail.com.
