Ruth Helen Crippin was born on Nov. 6, 1921, in Pocatello, ID. She grew up in Aberdeen, ID, where she graduated Valedictorian at Aberdeen High School in 1939. Ruth graduated from Albion State Normal School and began her teaching career in Kimberly, ID. She also taught in Aberdeen before marrying Edward R. Moser (Randy) in 1946.
Randy and Ruth moved to California where Ruth continued her teaching at Mark Keppel High School in Alhambra. Ruth retired as the Head of the Math Department and she and Randy moved into the Villa Gardens in 1989. Randy passed away in 1991.
Ruth later married Kenneth Westfall, a lifelong friend of both Ruth and Randy. Ken and Ruth lived part of the year in Pasadena, at the Villa Garden, and part of the year in Aberdeen, Idaho for the next 23 years. They traveled the world together and were involved in many charities.
Ruth died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016, one week after her 95th birthday. She is survived by her loving husband, Ken, her children, James and Kathi, her grandchildren Wendy, Larry and Heidi, and great-grandchildren Kristina, Kelly, Petra and Mazie.
Services were in Villa Vista, at Villa Gardens in Pasadena at 11 a.m. on Nov. 19.
